Richard Myung Bok Jung, 75, was born on November 27, 1948, in Seoul, South Korea and passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024. He was the youngest of three children and is survived by his older brother, Jason Myung Hwa Jung, and his older sister, Bok Soon Jung. He grew up in Yongdu-dong, South Korea where he attended high school and was awarded first place in a local technical competition in 1969 while attending the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kwangwoon University. He then worked for a Japanese company and lived in Japan for 6 months in 1972. He got married in Seoul, South Korea on July 5, 1975 and immigrated to the United States with his wife, Karin Keum Ok Jung, on September 13, 1975. They then had two daughters, Jane and Mary, and lived in the Washington D.C. area for over 40 years. He obtained his license and worked as a home and business contractor for most of those years.
He joined the First Korean Baptist Church, later known as Global Mission Church for over 30 years, and then began attending the Washington-Spencerville Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2018 with his wife.
Richard Myung Bok Jung is survived by his wife, Karin Keum Ok Jung, his daughter, Jane Jung (Brian Kim) and their children Sean and Dean, and his daughter, Mary Jung.
