I was very sad to hear the news of Bob’s passing this weekend. I knew Bobby since I was a teenager, and he was an important person in my life. When we were young, Bobby managed to charm everyone, including my mother, which was no small feat. He drove around Springfield MA in his “pink mobile,” taking friends to the beach, and on trips to the countryside to get apple cider. He introduced me to Charlie Lynch, the man who would become my husband (and later my good friend), and for that I am forever grateful. Even though I moved away from the East Coast, Bob still kept us in contact; he would call me on my birthday and send me updates on his life through Facebook. From afar, he seemed to me to be living a wonderful life, and to be the same charming, friendly, fun friend I remembered from my childhood. His commitment to our friendship kept me in touch with my past, and reminded me of how fortunate I have been to have known him.

My heart goes out to Judith and everyone in his family. Please know that I am thinking of you, with fond memories of Bobby. He was truly a special person.
