Robert Charles Salamy was born on August 10th, 1969 to his loving, single mother, Matilda Salamy. They were blessed to be part of a caring extended family of grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. Matilda loved Robert tremendously, and he paid it forward by loving those in his life with the same fierce passion. Blessed to marry Zoe Salamy, and become the step-father of Taylor and Joe, Robert and Zoe had a beautiful daughter, Jamila, whom Robert adored more than life itself.
From his extended family, to his step-grandchildren Michael, Kaylee and JoJo, family members he adopted, and even his far-more-than-a-pet Maxmillion (a black cat that was as much a part of Robert as anyone could be), his incredible capacity for love was known to all who encountered him.
He graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 1987, before pursuing a career in sound engineering, then automotive mechanics. With keen intelligence and uncanny empathy, he was able to set himself above most peers with ease. Everyone who knew Robert describes him with the words “loving” and “loyal”. In fact, if you were blessed enough to have him in your life, you just knew he would make your world better.
Preceded in death by great-grandmother Tata Rose, his grandmother, Jamileh Salamy, his grandfather, Salameh Salamy and his Aunt Hilda Gohrband, the tight-knit nature of the Salamy family meant every loss was devastating to him, but he would never shoulder it alone. Robert will be dearly missed by all those he left behind until they are united again in Heaven.
