Educated in the public schools of D.C., Ron graduated from Cardozo High School. Ron often said, “Do you know what it is like having one of your aunts teaching at your high school. Oh, man!”
At the age of 16 Ron found Prince George’s County Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire Department Company 38. He loved Company 38, and later became one of the Presidents. They gave him a constructive purpose and direction to help others. He received a Rescue Man of the Year Award in 1973, recognizing 1,126 Rescue Runs. One of Ron’s favorite past times was his Involvement with other fire stations to help them find equipment. In particular, Prince George’s County Marine Fire & Rescue Co. 56/57. As a volunteer he did mandatory training at University of Maryland, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute and the National Fire Academy, Emmitsburg, MD.
Ron’s Military Service included two tours in Viet Nam, as well as Germany and received an Honorable Discharge. He then went onto work for the Federal Service; having worked for the department of the Navy and the Social Security Administration, Ron retired from Federal Service in 2018.
Ron Williams and Joyce Roseboro were married in August 2002. He loved his new Community and was eager for his new neighbors to get to know him.
He leaves to mourn: his beloved wife Joyce, cousins and a host of friends and colleagues. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hinesrinaldifuneralhome.com for the Williams family.
