On May 1, 2025, Ruth (Ruthie) Arens, of Silver Spring Md, Much Loved wife of Arnold Arens, Devoted mother of Jeff Arens (Lisa) of Ellicott City, Md and Robin Arens Lewis (Greg) of Germantown, Md, Beloved sister of Lenny Arzt of Silver Spring, Md, Cherished Gam of Brittany Malone (Billy) of Charlotte, NC and Lexi Arens of Ellicott City, Md. Graveside services will be held on Sunday May 4 at 2:00 at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Va 22042. Family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the community room at Turnberry Courts III at Leisure World, 3005 S. Leisure World Blvd, Silver Spring, Md 20906. Flowers may be sent to the families or to National Memorial Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. Ruthie was a vibrant, devoted family woman who also was a pioneer as a business-woman in her generation. She owned and ran the first woman-owned personnel placement agency in her area and made lifelong friends with those who worked for her. She enjoyed having friends and family around. Ruthie looked forward to her annual winter snow-bird trips to Florida with Arnie before his health declined, and loved spending time in Ocean City, Md, traveling there for 2 weeks every year up to age 94. Ruthie lit up the room with her modern colorful clothes and bright personality. She was a role model for her children and grandchildren.
