Ruth was an artist at The Evening Star when we met there in 1962. We were a pack of singles who loved the the intellectual life as well as the nightlife of the newspaper.  And, oh, the parties!
Ruth and I were the two "immigrants" from the UK and we loved that. And we loved the idea of pushing prams around the park so she loved having Michelle as I loved having Christian(almost the same year).
 We stayed together,  celebrated each other's weddings, babies, achievements, losses,  and moves around Washington, D.C. And later on, as two aging ladies, we loved lunch and  long talks. 
I will miss you, Ruth.
