Obituary of Shirley Ann McMahan
IN THE CARE OF

Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home

On March 1, 2021, Shirley Ann McMahan lost her battle with colon cancer, at the age of 79 in Olney, Maryland. She was born in Tazewell, Virginia and moved to Maryland in the late 1940’s.

Family was everything to her and she loved planning big holiday celebrations for the family. She was a huge Redskin fan and loved to watch the Redskins play. She always had a smile on her face and was an optimist. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone who asked. She was also a big animal lover and always took the time to feed any stray animal that crossed her path. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Glen R. Mathews and Hattie Ruth Blake; stepfather, Alva M. Blake, and brother William Frank Mathews. She is survived by loving husband, James Ronald McMahan, who she married on March 17, 1961; two children, William James McMahan and Lori Ann McMahan-White; four grandchildren, Scott McMahan, Crystal Saah, Shannon Saah & Jennifer (Greg) Sanders; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Sanders & Lily Henning; daughter-in-law, Laurie McMahan; son-in-law, Charles R. White; two half-brothers, Dennis Mathews and David Mathews; uncle, James William Seabolt; and several cousins.

Visitation will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with services immediately following visitation at 12:00 pm.
