Suzanne Leddie Dorfman

Suzanne Kurcias Dorfman passed away peacefully on Monday morning after a years-long battle with cancer. She bravely fought the disease til the end and squeezed out every moment of her life to enjoy her grandchildren, Daniel and Nathan; her son, Neal; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer; twin brother, Marty; and husband, Ira. She was predeceased by her brother, Stuart, her mother, Evelyn and father, Bernard.

Suzanne was born at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, where she also passed away this week. She lived most of her life in Bethesda, Maryland except for a several-year residency in Princeton, New Jersey.

Suzanne was a very creative person, achieving a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Previously, she graduated from the University of Maryland - College Park and Walt Whitman High School. She taught elementary art education and time management and enjoyed photography, painting and reading.

A graveside ceremony will be held at noon, Thursday, April 8 at Gardens of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, MD. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her memory to:

May God hold you in the Palm of His hand.
I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Suzanne . I have many fond memories of her, we had some good times.
My sympathy to Ira,Neal and family.
