Silver Spring, Maryland—Troy A. Blair, 89 died Thursday July 19th at the Casey House Hospice in Rockville, Md. after a brief illness
He leaves his Son Roger Blair, Daughter Pamela DePasquale and companion Ruth Blankenship. Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Born and raised in Ivanhoe, Virginia the Son of William and Augusta Argyle Blair, he was a lifelong resident of Silver Spring Md.
In his early years, Mr. Blair worked on the family farm in Ivanhoe, Virginia. He attended Fort Chiswell High School and graduated in 1947. In 1950 he enlisted in the United States Navy and attended basic training in Newport Rhode Island. He then attended electronics technician school in Atlantic City, New Jersey and was eventually assigned to the Air Transport Squadron, Patuxent Naval Air Station in Southern Maryland. He met his Wife Alice Virginia Rogers in Wytheville, Virginia in 1953.
After serving with the Navy Mr. Blair worked for Cavalier TV and Electronics in Mt.Ranier, Md. until 1994 when he retired.
During his years in retirement Mr. Blair helped countless Friends and neighbors with projects and home improvements often at no cost to them. He believed in giving back to the community that had given him so much through the years. His hobby was to meet his close friends in the morning at McDonalds where they would ponder the daily crossword puzzle.
A Memorial service will be held for him on August 4 at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Spring, Md. at 1100 AM.
