

Loving mother to James Sherwood and Mary Enders; grandchildren Melissa Davey, Chelsea Sherwood, Jeffrey Sherwood, and Kara Blank-Gonzales; great grandchildren Hannah Figueredo and Ava Figueredo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Howard Sherwood; her parents, Roberta Glover (Hook) and Jacob Glover; her brother, Clifford Glover; and sister Martha Webb.
Known for her gentle kindness and generosity, hard work ethic, high moral compass, and loving devotion to family and friends, Virginia will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Virginia retired with over forty years of service in a successful career as an accountant for the United States Air Force Systems Command. She loved being with and supporting her family. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, sports, volunteering, and attending church. She lived her remarkable long life with passion and grace.
Her final days were spent peacefully at Brook Grove, in Sandy Spring, MD surrounded by her loved ones. The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904, on December 1, 2026 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
