I met Dorothy when she and her husband Bill came to Roosevelt University to have their photo taken to accompany a story being written about the two of them to appear in our alumni magazine. We had a nice exchange that day and I was fortunate to have a few more conversations with her after that. What a warm, kind-hearted and witty woman she was. I've met very few people who leave such a lasting impression after just an exchange or two, but Dorothy did. She'll hold a special place in my memory.

Dear Bill and family: Al and I will surely miss our dear friend, she was a woman with character; intelligent; wit and extremely funny.  I'll never forget that when we left Paslode, I went to work for an export Jewish company and she got a job at a Catholic school.  The only thing that scared me about her is that when I started at Paslode I didn't drive, so she gave me a ride to work. She would picked me up the corners of California and Howard, then I saw she was driving that big car with both feet! 
We loved her very much, as we love you too Bill.
