Jack E. Gross

Jack Edward Gross, 93, of Detroit, MI died October 30, 2013. He was first and foremost, a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, integrity, and boundless optimism. He enriched the lives of everyone around him and for that we will miss him greatly. Born June 20, 1920 to Peter and Rebecca Gross he grew up on Detroit’s lower east side and attended Northwestern High School. He enlisted in the Air Force during WWII and became a Sergeant. He loved the Tigers, big band jazz, and song writing. He was the youngest of four brothers; Joe, Harry, and Mike. Husband of Myra Gross; previously married to Nancy Ulvang. Father to Martin Gross (Lexy) and Jamie Lipson (Brian). Stepfather to Neil Zussman (Cathy), Warren Zussman, Gail Zussman (John), and Soozi Zussman. Grandfather to Lauren, Emily, Jamie, Chelsea, Zachariah, Malachi, Johanna, Mari, Jake, Chelsea, and Melanie. Great Grandfather to Alia, Hadley, and Carter. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
