We send our deepest condolences for you loss upon just learning that your dear Susie passed away in 2013. I'm sorry we are so late to contact you, we just learned about it from a friend who has Waldenstrom and serves on the national board and knew Susie.
We have fond memories of meeting and traveling with you, and were always struck by Susie's kindness, incredible smile and fun spirit, and by her thoughtfulness and warmth. She was truly beautiful inside and out. May her memory be a blessing.

My sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your wife.  I read in the newspaper that Susan died from Waldenstrom's....as did my husband at the age of 69 six years ago.  One doesn't hear about this type of cancer often and I just had to share this with you.  My thoughts are with you.

All of us will eventually lose someone we love & we will miss them desperately.  We will then understand the depth & breadth of this feeling when we get together as a family & reminisce , recalling the happy times as well as the deeply painful ones.
We instinctively know that they will continue to play the part that the rest of us will produce & direct for many years to come.
SUSIE, for her part in our play, influenced & left a permanent imprint on each of our collective memories for so many reasons.
One of our shared experiences took place on a bleak Chicago day- the day itself, a disappointment, as it rained torrentially during our visit from Ft. Lauderdale.  Nevertheless, Susie still insisted on driving us all around Oak Park for the Frank Lloyd Wright Homes Tour.  Susie drove up & down the streets, giving us the low down, commenting & critiquing & making delightful chatter.  
She seemed  to know how much we admired " THE ARCHITECT " & how His "CREATIONS"  brought us a certain solace...
The tour elevated our day & left a permanent imprint on our lives.  We are richer for it.  
They say that energy is conserved & transformed, but never destroyed.
Caught in her own ferocious storm, Susie still managed to make our day a day to remember.  Our loved ones chase us in our dreams; they ambush us with their love.  
When the time comes for each of us to fight the good fight & be brave & fearless, we will try to be ready to do what we need to do.  
Until then, we can only admire how  "Susie did it best."

In her lifetime, Susan shared her warmth, wisdom, loyalty, and energy with everyone. She was a brave woman who clung to life and to precious moments with her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends for years. She was my cheerleader and one for so many others. We will dearly miss that caring, upbeat voice but remember times with her warmly. So many good memories. From Prague today, I send condolences to her grieving family. You took such tender care of her.  May you find peace from the inspiration of her lifetime.

My sense of loss is profound even though we hadn't seen one another for several years. She was my friend from grade school though high school and whenever we were together after that, it was as if no time had passed. She was a light and a force like no other and the world is diminished without her. She put me together with my first boyfriend and even though that didn't work out in the end, she was right and I'll never know how she knew. I'm visiting in Anderson right now and yesterday drove by her house in Edgewood and waved goodbye -- for myself and all of us who were so close at Edgewood Grade School and Madison Heights High School. My heart and sympathies are with the whole family.

Susan was a remarkable woman, as beautiful within as she was without, a woman of character, love and courage. She was respected, admired and loved by all who were blessed to know her. She was affirmative and upbeat even in the darkest adversity, and always was supportive and encouraging to everyone who knew her. She will be very sorely missed by all her family and her legions of friends.
