

Skowhegan- Albert Francis “Pete” Washburn, 91, of Beauford Street, passed away on Tuesday, July 11 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Skowhegan on January 2, 1932 a son of the late Alfred and Etta (Stain) Washburn Sr. He was educated in local schools.
Pete married the former Elaine Lemieux in Skowhegan on April 19, 1952 and together they settled in Skowhegan to raise their family. They spent over 55 wonderful years together until her passing on December 20, 2007.
Pete loved being in the woods and was a logger by trade, a job he truly enjoyed. He loved fishing, hunting and playing poker with his card buddy Pedro Wentworth.
Pete is survived by four children Trudy Perkins and husband Bo of Skowhegan, Cathy Meader and companion Richard Quirion of Skowhegan, Michael Washburn and companion Patty Nayock of Skowhegan and Paula Washburn of Skowhegan; as well as 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Billy and his wife Janet Washburn, his siblings Evelyn, Violet, Doris, Phyliss, Alfred JR, and Francis, and 2 grandsons Scott and Skip.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20 from 6-8 PM at Smart and Edward Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, July 21 at 10 AM, also at the funeral home. Committal will follow at East Skowhegan Cemetery, Oak Pond Rd in Skowhegan.
