

Artiss Leah Lufkin formerly Artiss Leah Stiles, “Artie, Nana or Crochet Ninja, originally from Rumford, Maine, later Silver Springs, Florida. Her recent residence has been in Mercer, Maine near her daughters. She died on August 21, 2010 in her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Artie graduated from Dixfield High School in 1944. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Rumford Community Hospital for 22 years. She later was the manager of a convenient store for 11 years in Silver Springs, Florida, where she resided.
She was a member of the Rome Church. She touched the lives of so many during her life, always surrounding herself with children with whom she could share her love.
She leaves behind her son Jon Alton Lufkin of Bartlett, her three daughters, Julie Ann Lufkin Purtz, her husband Ed of Salem, MA, Jill Alice Lufkin Robinson her husband Bill of Mercer, ME, Jane Andrea Greenblatt her husband Paul of Freedom, NH, her 13 grandchildren, Aimee Adams of ME, Aaron Brown of OR, Heather Lufkin of CT, Heidi Lufkin of MA, Mathew Lufkin of CO, Mia Lufkin of MA, Natasha Abisciano of MA, Nathan Purtz of MA, Fred Purtz of MA, Jacob Purtz of MA, Lindsay Teaze of OR, Ryan Page of ME, Chelsea Leah Page of ME, one great granddaughter Isabella Abisciano of West Roxbury, MA, stepson Kenneth Minnott of El Cayon, CA, Sharon Minott of San Diego, CA, their son’s Kenneth Minott of CA, and Kurt Minott of CA, granddaughters; Jill and Jenny of Augusta, ME.
She was predeceased by her step daughter Sandra Abbot.
A Celebration of her life will be held at the Light House Ministry Center, 191 High Street, Oakland, Maine, (Rte. 137), at 1:00 p.m. on August 29, 2010. A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony. We invite all to be a part of this celebration by sharing your personal accounts of how Artie touched your lives during hers.
