He was born June 11, 1951 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Ralph H. Elkins and Juanita (Graf) Flannery.
Brent was educated in Skowhegan Schools.
He started his working career at Val’s Exxon in Madison, which his father owned. He worked at Motor Supply in Skowhegan for a short time, and also for Charlie and Sons in Madison as a master of all trades for many years.
Brent liked to tinker on engines and liked visiting with people.
He is survived by his brother Les Flannery and his wife Annette of Skowhegan; his uncles Newell Graf of Skowhegan, William Graf of Sidney; his aunt Betty Runnells and her husband Pete of Virginia; a nephew, Chad Flannery and his wife Loreal of Virginia; a niece, Jennifer Day and her husband Joshua of Skowhegan; and four special great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his step-father.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
