

She was born January 8, 1936 in Norridgewock, Maine, the daughter Forrest E. Stevens and Belva (Works) Stevens.
Carolyn was educated in the Mercer schools.
She married Robert Everett on May 14, 1970 in Fairfield, Maine. He passed away in 2013.
Carolyn spent many years as a homemaker and she also worked for Norrwock Shoe Company in Norridgewock as a stitcher for 24 years.
She loved crafts. Many remember her beautiful wedding gowns and wedding cakes. She started her small cake business in 1977 and made hundreds of birthday, anniversary and wedding cakes over the years. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed sewing quilts, clothes, and Christmas pajamas for them. Most recently, she looked forward to “Mom Day” every Thursday, when she would get her hair done and go out to dinner.
She and Bob belonged to the Arnold Trail Square dancing group in Skowhegan. Carolyn made their square dancing costumes and they traveled all over going to square dancing competitions.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Sherri Everett of Skowhegan, and her fiancé Aron Bishop of Athens; two stepdaughters, Peggy Dummitt and her husband Paul of Glastonbury, CT; Pattie Randlett of Hamilton, OH; three stepsons, Bob Everett Jr. and his wife Karen of Wallingford, CT, Dale Everett of Skowhegan, and Jeff Everett and his wife Lori of Higganum, CT; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Tina Stevens of Smithfield; brother-in-law, Mike Picard of Mercer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton Brown; her parents; two daughters, Donna Jillson and Diane Ellis; one sister, Rosie Picard; two brothers, Gerald Stevens and Wayne Stevens; one stepson, Jerry Everett; and one stepdaughter, Kathy Everett.
Viewing hours will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Oak Cemetery in Norridgewock, there will be a celebration of life following the graveside service at the Mercer Community Center.
Donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Mercer United Methodist Church.
