SKOWHEGAN-Christine Joyce Ehrlich, 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, and devoted friend was born December 2, 1931 to Ruth and Francis Dyer in
Madison, Maine, and passed away on June 17, 2022. She resided in Skowhegan, Maine at the
time of her passing.
Christine was a strong, independent Mainer who knew her mind and was a true inspiration to
many. She had multiple sclerosis for many decades, but she let MS know she was the boss and
wasn’t going to let it ruin her days. Despite physical challenges and limited mobility, she had a
positive attitude that radiated. Her grace, dignity, and humor inspired many facing their own
challenges.
Christine graduated from Madison High School, class of 1949. She worked as a switchboard
operator for Madison Telephone Company and Hiltons Dairy Bar before attending nursing
school in Providence, Rhode Island. She then worked for Depositors Trust Company for many
years until her retirement. After retiring, she worked at Char-Lee’s Donuts.
Christine graduated from high school with fellow classmate Bob Ehrlich, and at a class reunion
many years later, the two “hit it off” and married. Christine had found her true love. They
summered in Maine and wintered in California as they blended the love of their families from
coast to coast. The two also enjoyed many traveling adventures together.
Christine enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, and nature. Plus cats! She adored her furry friends
throughout the years, especially her beloved Andy who recently passed at the age of nineteen.
Christine was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor. She was a master quilter and
the creator of Chuffa Teddy Bears. She was faithful to the daily crossword puzzle in the Morning
Sentinel as well as to Jeopardy. She played cribbage and bantered with her partner in crime
Charlene Plourde, and also spent countless hours quilting and mending the world’s problems
with her dear friend Myrla Connolly. Her friends and family, each and every one, were truly
treasured by her.
Christine was a member of The Latter Day Saints, Skowhegan.
Christine is survived by her brother Stafford Dyer, children Daniel Luce and wife Raejean, Jean
Finley and partner Daniel Michaud, step-children Leslie Strickland and husband David Janssen,
David Ehrlich and wife Marla, Jason Ehrlich and wife Carrie, as well as grandchildren Erin
Salisbury and husband Josh, Patrick Finley and wife Christina, Casey Bullock and husband

Juarez, Zachary Juarez and fiancé Mari Gebauer, Joseph Ehrlich, Matthew Ehrlich, Lindsay
Malvase and husband Tyler, Kenny Strickland and partner Anastasia Bourch,
great-grandchildren Camryn and Lauren Salisbury and Silas Finley, step-great-grandchild Nora
Malvase. Along with many loved nieces, nephews, and the dearest of friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Bob Ehrlich, brother Wilford Dyer as well as
Warren Luce, her ex-husband and the father of her two children.
The family extends its heartfelt appreciation and eternal gratitude to Holly Carter, Cassidy
Rodrigues and Rowena Boynton Kunath as well as the staff of Redington Fairview Hospital ED
and Maine Medical Cardiac Unit, Portland for the loving care they provided in her time of need.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27th at 1:00 at the Forest Hills Cemetery,
Madison, Maine.
