Eleanor Winafred Roy

Eleanor married Louis J. Roy who passed away Feb 10, 2006. She first started out working at Sampson’s Supermarket in the meat department for several years. She then went on to work various jobs at Solon Manufacturing and as a dietary aid at Cedar Ridge Nursing Center at the same time. Eleanor retired in 2007. Eleanor was proud to receive her high school diploma at the age of 60.

Eleanor enjoyed playing Scrabble, she loved spending time with her family and with her dear friend Marylee Worthley.

She is survived by her five children, Charlotte Lawless and her husband Michael of Smithfield, RI, Caroline Roy of Norridgewock, Michael Roy and his wife Kelli of Norridgewock, Marc Roy and his wife Roberta of Anson, and Leonard Roy of Skowhegan; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Louis Roy; daughter, Brenda Hebert; daughter-in-law, Gloria Roy; granddaughter Kelly Roy; and sister Florence Sabois.

A graveside service will he held 9am, Friday, June 20 at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral
