

She was born January 31, 1929 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of Booth and Maggie (Reid) Sharp.
She married Thomas R. Hodgdon; he passed away in June of 2002.
Evelyn worked for Avco Lycoming in Stratford, CT, as a Records Clerk, Norden Div. of United Aircraft in personnel, Maine State Unemployment in Skowhegan, Maine, and she then worked for Miles Carpenter Company in claims and accounts receivable.
Evelyn was a very kind and gentle lady; she had a special laugh that could put a smile on your face at any time. She loved gardening and was especially fond of the flower Lupines, whose seeds she shared with many of us.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched over the years.
She is survived by her special nephew Sheldon and Kathy KilKenny of Madison, niece Ken and Jackie Hilton of Skowhegan, nephew Rodney and Sheila KilKenny of Madison, her very special friends Roy and Carol Essex and family, The Kresge Family, and The Falco Family, sister in-law Eudene O’Brien of Fairfield, brother in-law Dana and Judy Hodgdon of Canaan. She is also survived by Wayne and Shirley Hodgdon of E. Madison, Scott and Vickie Hodgdon of Illinois, Dana D. and Liz Hodgdon of MA, Shawna Robertson of Skowhegan, Bethany Reynolds of Farmington.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Thomas R. Hodgdon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lambke for his kind and caring mannerism he showed Evelyn during her time of need. She was truly fond of him. They would also like to thank the entire staff of Woodlawn Nursing Home for the care, kindness and friendship they gave to Evelyn during her stay.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 10 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
