Irene worked in the Skowhegan Moccasin Factory and ushered at the Strand Theater. It was at the theater that she met her husband Stanley E. Jackson. They married in the 1940’s and had many wonderful years together until his passing in 2006. Once married, Irene stayed at home and raised their three children.
She was a member of the Rebekah’s where she went through all the chairs. In her spare time, she ushered at Lakewood Theater and Grand Stand at Skowhegan Fair. Irene also worked in the church lunch booth at the fair. Her faith was important to her, so a devoted neighbor, Douglas Atwood saw that she got to attend services at the Methodist church in her later years. Irene also enjoyed sewing, embroidering, traveling, and mowing her big back lawn.
Irene is survived by her two sons, Stanley A. Jackson and his wife Mary of Newburgh and Timothy A. Jackson and wife Monica of Boscawen, NH; daughter, Donna L. Fowler and husband Ralph of Newport; five grandchildren, Wendy Fowler Bigelow and husband Robert of Vancouver, WA, David Fowler and wife Christine of New Boston, NH, Nicole Levine and partner Kim of Wilton, Stephen Jackson of Boscawen, NH, and Shawn Jackson and husband Donny Thomas of Sagle, ID; seven great grandchildren, Brianna, Kooper, Madeline, Logan, Allayah, Riley and Austin; and many nieces, nephews and beloved family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was also predeceased by a sister and four brothers.
