Jeanne Ann McLaughlin

Jeanne left school at the age of 16 and immediately entered the workforce. Over the years, she worked at various shoe shops: Dirigo Stitching, SCI/Samnina and a few call centers. During this time, she also worked for and received her GED. When SCI closed down in 2003, Jeanne attended KVCC and received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. This degree was put to good use as she made a budget to help her sister, Diane, and herself keep their finances straight.

Jeanne loved many things in life- the most important were the visits from her nieces and nephews. The best part were the hugs. She also enjoyed music – a steadfast Beatles fan, her favorite song being “Penny Lane”. She was also a fan of television, especially anything British. One of her later passions though was family genealogy. She spent many hours on Ancestry.com researching the family and found out that on her mother’s side, she was related to John Crane who served in the Revolutionary War under George Washington. Crane had the Distinct honor of being the only injured participant during the Boston Tea Party.

Jeanne was predeceased by her parents and her brother in law, Jeffrey M. Hooker. She is survived by her siblings, Carolyn Hooker of Skowhegan, Kevin W. Mclaughlin and wife Mary of Belgrade and their children, Miranda, Kameron and Christopher, Diane L. McLaughlin of Skowhegan- Jeanne’s caretaker later in life and co-parent of their feline children, Jake, Charlie and George, and Michael A. McLaughlin and wife Heidi of Augusta and their daughter, Michelle Page and her daughter, Kristina.

Jeanne’s family would like to thank all of the crew at Cedar Ridge Center who took care of her throughout the last year.
