

Cornville – Jeannette F. Corson, 86, of Cornville, passed away after a short illness, Friday, August 4, 2017 in Skowhegan. She was born in Embden, Maine on May 2, 1931, the daughter of Charles and Dora (Dugas) Pratt. Jeannette went to school at Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. She was very proud in her accomplishment of earning her GED later in life. She married Alfred C. Corson on March 29, 1969 in Skowhegan, Maine.
Jeannette worked for many years in area shoe shops. She was a president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit in Skowhegan.
Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her husband, hunting, watching the New England Patriots, reading, doing puzzles and watching old western movies. In her younger days, she enjoyed racing at Unity Raceway.
Jeannette is survived by her husband Alfred C. Corson of Cornville; her children, Dianna Fernald and her partner Lewis Stillman of Clinton, Omer Kenneth Pelotte and wife Lorrie of Fairfield, Nancy Cook and her husband Jay of Naples, Florida, Timmy Pelotte and wife Debora of Benton, Roy Pelotte and wife Gail of Skowhegan. Jeannette is survived by twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; brothers Charles Pratt III and partner Roberta, Burtell Pratt and partner Marlene, Gerald Pratt and wife Peggy; and sister Emily Nutt, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was predeceased by her children; son, Wayne Pelotte, daughter, Paula Pelotte and son, Darrell Pelotte, brother, Richard Pratt, sister, Arlene Wing, Son-in-law, George Fernald Sr., granddaughter, Sandra Dee Fernald, grandson, Rex Quimby, great granddaughter, Danika Quimby and great grandson, Devan Quimby.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, 1:00 pm with the Reverend Mark Tanner officiating at the East Skowhegan Cemetery, 449 Oak Pond Road, Skowhegan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
There will be a gathering to celebrate the life of Jeannette F. Corson following the graveside service at the New Beginnings Church of God, 392 Main Street, Waterville, Maine.
