Jeffrey Allan Goodell

NORRIDGEWOCK – Jeffery A. Goodell, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 18, 2014. He was born in Skowhegan on March 2, 1960 the son of Sandra (Sincyr) and Philip Goodell, Sr. Jeff graduated from Skowhegan High School class of 1979. For a time, Jeff worked in the woods, at Dexter Shoe and Gifford’s. He spent the last 28 years as a boiler operator for Verso Paper. He met Diane (Williamson) in 1989 and they married in 1996. They raised their family in North Anson and Norridgewock.

Jeff’s family was his life and he loved any occasion that brought everyone together. He was first in line at Sunday dinner and never missed a chance to spend time with his grandchildren. Jeff even volunteered at their schools. In his spare time, he could be found in his garage tinkering on something; collecting anything collectable such as coins, stamps and guns; cooking; and writing short stories and poems. Jeff was proud to be a Registered Maine Guide. He loved hunting and fishing and he traveled all over to do so.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Goodell and brother, Daniel Goodell.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Diane Goodell; father, Philip Goodell, Sr.; children, Michael Brown and wife Jada of Norridgewock, Jill Dionne and husband Jacob of Norridgewock, Christine Klein and husband David of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Allan Goodell and wife Reagan of Montrose, CO; grandchildren, Dustin, Zoe, Emma, Brianna, Elliott, Eliza, A.J., Wyatt, Jade, Freya, and Wylee; brother, Philip Goodell, Jr. and wife Judy; sisters, Julie Myers, Cathy Wheeler and husband Bill, April Bunker and husband Steve, and Melinda McKechnie and companion Linwood; many nieces and nephews; and too many dear friends and coworkers to mention but whose love and support has been greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at 1pm, April 22, 2014 at Skowhegan Federated Church, Island Ave, Skowhegan with Rev. Elbert Brewster officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan.
