She was born December 16, 1964 in Cloquet, MN, to Malcom J. and Constance M. (LaRochelle) Rendell. Her family moved to Kalamazoo/ Portage, MI area when she was young, her childhood was spent there. In her teens, she and her family moved to Norridgewock where her mother’s family was from. She remained in Maine for the rest of her life. Her father was a Canadian Citizen from Newfoundland, Canada and she kept close ties with her Canadian family.
Joanne graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1983. Joanne also went to Southern Maine University and graduated with a degree as a paralegal. She worked as a paralegal for several lawyers, title companies, and at the Winslow Town Office. She was preceded in death by her parents and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her two brothers Alan Rendell of Portage, MI and Carl (Bethany) Rendell in Norridgewock. Also surviving are nephews Jason, Lorne (Bumpy), Bryant and Brandon, two nieces Holly (Rendell) Crane and Emily Rendell. Also surviving are 6 great nephews and great nieces, and several cousins throughout New England and Canada.
Joanne was known for her love of cooking, gardening, canoeing and kayaking the Kennebec River from Osoola Park in Norridgewock. She would often go down to the park and relax along the river. Family get togethers were among her favorite past times as well as visiting the family cabin in Tamworth, NH. She was known for her sense of humor and she had her father’s sarcastic wit. She liked to be silly, sing and dance, but unfortunately, she had a bad singing voice like the rest of her family. She was very special to her friends and family and loved being an aunt. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten!
For those who would like to come and remember Joanne, we will be at Osoola Park in Norridgewock on Sunday November 4, 2018 at 1 p.m. A burial will be held at a later date in Tamworth, NH.
