

Julie A. Jewell, enjoyed Bunny days with her grandchildren and lollipop land for her meant she was doing exactly what she wanted to do and it is with great sadness we announce her passing, Wednesday September 20, 2017 peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Skowhegan, Maine.
She was born July 30, 1955 in Farmington, Maine, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Dolloff) Gillespie. She graduated from Winthrop High School in the class of 1973.
On June 23, 1979 she married the love of her life Steve Jewell in Winthrop, Maine at a family home.
Julie worked at several area hospitals and several doctor’s offices, working in the medical billing for many years. Julie and Steve were co-owners of A+ Healthcare out of Fairfield for 10 years and for the last 20 years, she and Steve have co-owned the Athens Corner Store.
She was a past member of the DOVE Society, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren acting like a child herself when she was with them. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening, to go dancing and loved sitting and watching the fire in her fireplace and going to play the slot machines.
Besides her husband Steve of 38 years of Skowhegan, she leaves her beloved children, Christopher Clark and his wife Lori of Winthrop, Katie Anton and her companion Jesse Corson of Athens, Stephanie Miller and her husband Christopher of Hartland; her two brothers, William Gillespie and his wife Becky and Richard Gillespie and his wife Rhonda; her fifteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, Maine with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
