Lina Edna Albert

Lina Belisle Albert, 87, of Skowhegan, died on Sept. 7, 2015, after a brief illness. Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of Walter and Angelina (Allie) Belisle. Lina lived in Auburn, Winslow, and Skowhegan. In 1948, she married the boy next door, Roland Albert, after he was discharged from the United States Army. Lina was a gentle woman with a quiet sense of humor. She lived her life with great empathy for others; she focused her life on her family and friends. She enjoyed eating chocolate daily and she prized maple cream. She relished shopping and buying gifts for her granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland Albert; and her siblings Roger, Rollande, Hervey, Eddy, and Leo. She is survived by her brother Odoric (Marjorie) Belisle of New Jersey, and her sister Marie Florence Campbell of New Hampshire; her son Marc and his family, Georgia Clark Albert and granddaughter Robin of Athens, Maine; her daughter Jo-Ann and her family, Bruce Clark of New Hampshire, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2-4 p.m. The interment will be on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
