Madelyn Grace Kinney

1924-2014 NORRIDGEWOCK - Madelyn Grace Kinney, 90, of Norridgewock, died April 14 at a local health care facility in Skowhegan. Born March 15, 1924, in Norridgewock, she was the daughter of Arthur and Olive M. (Bigelow) Kinney. Madelyn graduated from Norridgewock High School in the class of 1943. After high school, she worked at Norrwock Shoe Co. in Norridgewock for many years. After retiring, she cleaned Virginia Thompson's home in South China. She enjoyed traveling, working, fishing, carding horses and working in her vegetable garden. She is survived by two sisters, Emerald Lancaster and her husband, Raymond, of Norridgewock, and Ann Bartlett, of Bangor; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and friends. Madelyn was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Reginald Kinney and Emery Kinney. The family would like to thank the staff at Tissue Country Estate in Athens and Cedar Ridge Nursing Center in Skowhegan for all the wonderful care they gave to Maddie A graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Norridgewock at a later date.
