Marian E McLaughlin

Marian was born in Skowhegan in February of 1930, the daughter of Almon Spencer and Lucy (Libby) Spencer.

She graduated from the Skowhegan Area High School in 1947.

She was married to Earl E. McLaughlin on July 1, 1950. They were married for forty-three years.

Marian worked at McLellan’s Department Store and various local shoe shops. Before her illness, she attended the United Methodist Centenary Church and was active in the choir. She also participated in the Skowhegan Community Chorus and performed volunteer work for Senior Spectrum and The Thrift Store.

Marian is survived by her children, daughters, Carolyn Hooker and her husband Jeff, Jeanne McLaughlin and Diane McLaughlin; sons, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Mary, their children, Miranda, Kameron and Christopher; Michael McLaughlin and his wife Heidi, their daughter, Michelle Page; and great granddaughter Kristina Page; sisters, Priscilla Ackley, Marjorie Goulette, Lois Simpson and Barbara Nelson along with many Nieces and Nephews.

She is predeceased in death by her husband Earl, sisters, Ruth Annis and Arlie Elliott; and brother Gary Spencer.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Maine General Health to benefit Health Reach Hospice at Maine General Health, Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, Me. 04903-0828.

A special thanks to Boogie Woogie Lord and her mom Donna for bringing laughter to Mom during her illness. The McLaughlin family would also like to express a heartfelt thanks to all the members of Health Reach Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
