Robert Allen Holt

He was born December 23, 1943 in Middleton, CT, the son of Merritt C. Holt I and Annie (Goodridge) Holt.

He was educated in area schools.

Robert married Irmalene Moody on June 30, 1967 in Norridgewock, Maine, having celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past June.

Robert worked as a crossing guard for the police department at the local schools here in Skowhegan, and he delivered newspapers for 10 years.

He loved being outdoors and going hunting and he also liked to be busy. He enjoyed playing online games and he also enjoyed playing rummy.

He especially loved and adored his wife, his children and grandchildren were the light of his life.

Robert leaves his wife Irmalene of 50 years of Skowhegan, he also leaves his children, Robert Holt and his girlfriend Christy of Skowhegan, Gerald Holt and his wife Laura of Skowhegan, Gregory Holt and his wife Maranda of Skowhegan, Sara Holt and her significant other Kenny of Skowhegan, Merritt Holt II and his fiancé Lynnie of Norridgewock; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Lorraine Manter and her husband Bill of FL, Elaine Wallace and her husband Gary of Skowhegan; sister-in-law, Tina Holt of Norridgewock; several nieces and nephews and one special god-nephew, Jimmy Holt of CT.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers Amos and Dick Holt.

A celebration of his life will be held on November 12, 2017 from 1 to 2 pm at the Skowhegan/ Madison Elks Lodge, 21 Silver St., Skowhegan, Maine.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
