OBITUARY

Sandra J. HIGHT

July 11, 1951February 13, 2018

Sandra Joy (Corson) Hight danced into eternal life on February 13, 2018. An amazing woman, Sandi was loved dearly, is missed tremendously and will be forever cherished. Our "Grandma" as she was called by her two angels, was a wife, mom, daughter, mother in-law and grandma like no other.

Born July 11, 1951, Sandi grew up in Madison, ME, excelling in softball, basketball and field hockey. She met and married the love of her life Walter Hight in 1973. Sandi and Walter made their lifelong home on Dyer Street. This is where Sandi made cherished friends and memories with her children and neighbors, Suzanne, Judy and Lolly.

In 1973 Sandi and Walter welcomed their first son, Toby. Three years later, Corey joined the family. Her boys were the light of her life. Toby and Corey's love for their mom is like no other, and the feeling was reciprocated and shined through in everything Sandi did. On any given day, you would see Toby and Corey's vehicle in the driveway of their childhood home, visiting their mom to talk about their day and have a quick snack or drink, as she always made sure to have their favorites on hand.

Just when Sandi thought life couldn't get any better she became a grandma. Her two grandsons, Jackson and Kaeson stole her heart, and for 11 years she poured her heart and soul into her "angels." She loved her boys fiercely and was their biggest fan. You could find her out on the courts rebounding balls, on the sideline of a track meet cheering loudly, at the Skowhegan Fair walking the rides for hours, or at her home curled up on the couch watching videos with them. Sandi filled her angels with a lifetime of love and memories.

Sandi and Walter's adventures were many, from the Super Bowl, to their trip to Europe, to the Hambletonian Stakes. The time they treasured most though was their morning ride around the community that they love. Every morning you would find them driving their loop, discussing the events of the prior day and planning for the day that was before them.

Sandi loved everything sports related and spent many years officiating high school and college basketball, softball and field hockey. In 2011 she was inducted into the state of Maine Field Hockey Hall of Fame for officiating and being a promotor of field hockey and women and girls athletics. She was known as "one of the best officials in the State of Maine" of which she was very proud.

A fierce competitor, tennis became Sandi's sport of choice over the past few years. She was a proud member of the Palm Aire Tennis Group in Pompano Beach in the winter months and the Lakewood Tennis Group in the summer. For over 20 years, most mornings you could find Sandi and her dear friend Judy Lapointe doing their morning exercise stroll throughout the local neighborhood. Clogging was also a passion of hers, and with that came many lifelong friends. On stage, she was the lady with the big smile.

Loved ones that predeceased Sandi are her mother, Frances Corson and her mother in-law Grace Hight. Family that will miss her dearly until they meet again are her husband Walter Hight; son Toby Hight and his wife Liza; son Corey Hight and his wife Jennifer; her two "Angel-Pies" and the lights of her life, her grandsons Jackson and Kaeson; Emily and Joshua McKenney; her brother Alan Corson and his wife Donna; her bother Gary Corson and his wife Diane; father in-law S. Kirby Hight; brother in-law Lou Hight and his wife Debbie; sister in-law Jane Edmunds and her husband Paul; nieces and nephews Shelby Downing, Wylie Van Ness, Sam Hight, Scott Edmunds and Meredith Hood.

And so the story continues until we see our Grandma, wife and Mom again. We love and miss you to the moon and back.

The family would like to thank the community for their kindness and compassion. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Tom and Dodie Dillon for their many years of friendship and support.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Federated Church, 13 Island Avenue, Skowhegan. A reception will immediately follow at T&Bs Celebration Center. A private burial will be held in the spring.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, anyone wishing to extend their condolences to the family may do so on our website- www.smartandedwardsfh.com

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandi's memory may be made to the Sandi Hight Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund (for a student graduating from RSU 54), P.O. Box 250, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
