Shirley Ann Campbell

She was born September 6, 1943, in Skowhegan, the daughter and youngest of eight children to Lewis P. Steward and Viola (Ellis) Steward.

She was educated in Skowhegan School systems.

Shirley married her lifelong partner and soulmate Charles “Joe” Campbell on May 20, 1967 in Skowhegan, Maine and together they raised six children.

She will be forever remembered as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all of her family.

Shirley loved playing bingo; she was also a Miami Dolphins fan and wouldn’t miss watching a game. She looked forward to her Saturday shopping trips and lunch out with her husband and daughter Roxy. She also treasured her family gatherings as her family was the most important part of her life.

Besides her husband Charles Campbell of 48 years of Skowhegan, she also leaves behind her five daughters, Robin James and husband Wayne of Skowhegan, Penny Corson and husband Cliff of Skowhegan, Chrissy Campbell and husband Jamie Stafford of Athens, Roxanne Bushey and husband Frank of Skowhegan, Lori Prentiss and husband Barry of Canaan; her son, Chuck Campbell and wife Carrie of Canaan; nine grandchildren Joshua and Lindsay Corson, Laurel Bushey, Isaiah, Euriah, and Gabrielle Campbell, Morgan Prentiss, Alex and Jayme Stafford, one great-grandson Wesson Corson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers Gerald and Lewis Nolan, Victor, Linwood, and Clayton Steward, two sisters, Harriet “Teddy” Murray, Patsy Baker, two grandchildren as babies, Sabrina Star and Wayne W. James II who now have their Grammy rocking them.

Viewing will be held on Sunday March 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A Funeral service will be held Monday March 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at the E. Skowhegan Cemetery.
