

She was born in Starks, Maine on August 19, 1925, the daughter of Fred and Lina (Palmer) Withee.
She attended schools in Madison, Maine, where she spent the majority of her life as a resident.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Shirley enjoyed her time with her family, going to Wal-Mart with her daughter, other days she went to Wal-Mart to have coffee with her friends, she liked going to lawn sales, reading, watching TV, doing word puzzles and she liked going for rides if you drove very slowly and stayed on your own side of the road!!!
Shirley left behind a son; Glenn Duckworth of Smithfield, a daughter; Debra Lambert and her husband Kurt of Madison, a sister; Janice Huntington of Florida, her grandchildren; Travis Parlin of Madison, Troy Parlin currently serving in Afghanistan, Melissa Duckworth of Greenville, great-grandchildren; Damion, Devon, and Graden, a great-great-granddaughter; Pandora, also by a niece Wanda Mann of Connecticut.
She was predeceased by her mother and father and a sister, Maxine Corson; her second husband George Haggas.
Viewing hours will be held on Saturday December 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Sunday December 15, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.
Burial will be held in the spring at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
