SKOWHEGAN -- Wanda J. Foss, 62, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 17, 2010, with her family at her side, after a long, hard fight and courageous battle with illness at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass.
She was the daughter of Arthur and Frances Murray, born on Jan. 20, 1948, in Waterville.
Wanda attended Skowhegan schools and went on to work for social services, area shoe factories, adult education and KVCAP.
She greatly enjoyed scrap-booking, but above all she loved and cherished her family and all the time they spent together. Wanda's full-time hobby was being a "Grammie" to her grandchildren. She was a very loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Bruce A. Foss Sr.; her mother, Frances Murray; her daughter, April A. Foss and son, Bruce A. Foss Jr. and wife Mindy, her granddaughter, Amber Marie Foss and great-grandson, Jake Allen Foss; her siblings: Madeline Corson, Maryann Cooley, Ruth Bowman-Bartley, Stanley and Paul Murray; a sister-in-law, Roma Edwards and by her beloved kitties Buttons and Bows, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Murray, and a brother, Marcel "Pappy" Murray.
The Foss family wishes to thank the Burlington, Mass., transplant team at Lahey Clinic for all the wonderful care and support they gave to Wanda and her family.
At Wanda's request there will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will take place at a later date in the spring at East Skowhegan Cemetery. Those wishing to send memorial contributions in Wanda's memory may do so to a charity of their choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home.
