

Clarence served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and his final deployment was aboard the USS Saint Paul, a unit of the 3rd Fleet. He was aboard while anchored off Yokohama in Tokyo, Kaiwan for the signing of the Articles of Surrender by Japan, ending WW II, September 2, 1945.
After his honorable discharge, Clarence married Anna Alma Kieschnick at Manheim, Texas on June 15, 1947, Texas. Together they had four children and enjoyed 66 years together, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Anna Peschke of Smithville, children, Nancy (Eddie) McDowell of Seabrook, Texas, Carey Peschke of Kalaheo, Hawaii, Dwight (Suzanne) Peschke of Giddings and James Peschke of Lakeway, Texas; grandchildren Steven Penry, Stephanie Eisman, Janis Armstrong, Eric Peschke and Bradley Peschke; great grandchildren-Sarah & Hannah Penry, Auril McLean, Ethan & Seth Eisman. He is preceded by his parents, and sister, Minnie Grossmann, brothers, Charles and Victor Peschke.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Smithville with interment following with Military Honors at Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Clarence to St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie Valley of the charity of your choice.
