William T. Skinnger(Bill), I remember the days of you me Velda, Little Bill and Dad (Norman Christy) fishing and going to Port Arransas and Rock Port, Tx. going way out deep sea fishing by the oil rigs in the Gulf. You were a dear frind of my dads and of moms and mine. So was Velda and Little Bill. I gave you a picture of dad hunting after passed away in 1990 it was an 8x10 B&W of him next to the jeep he used. You said you would charrish it for ever. I knew I had givin the picture to the right person when you said that. I will always charrish the fun good times we had huntting and fishing and swimming at your house. You would be glad to know I have become a Mason and have been for 5 yrs now. You will be missed by me but I can only emagine dad and you are fishing and hunting right now in the heavans above. To, Little Bill and Velda, I just found out about Bill's Passing and am so very sorry. Him and my father Norman went fishing, Hunting, hung out togather you name it they did it. I went with Bill and Dad fishing so many times i cant count. It was some of my most memorable times in my lifr knowing Bill. I will miss him so much. He was my friend as well as my dads and he will always be in my memory's. I do have alot of pictures of him and us fishing and haveing fun together. Good bye, Dr. Skinner. Although I just learned of your passing, you know that I will never forget you. You were an incredible psychiatrist (and later friend) that managed to lead me through the mire when I doubted I'd ever surface. You were always sharp, attentive, kind, encouraging, supportive, patient, and loving. I considered you to be the "father" I never had and cherished every session we had. Your words to me were like scripture; many times the only thing I had to cling to were those few encouraging words that helped me survive the troubled waters. You were the first person who had faith in my ability. It was a blessing to have found you. You became my rock as I struggled to evolve under your care. You were undoubtedly a most influential man who has had a lasting effect on me as well as numerous other human beings. My life today would not be the same had I never met you. You know that I love you and will miss you dearly. Rest in peace, sweet Dr. Skinner.

I just learned of Bill's passing.  We were classmates here in Smithville, TX.  From Grade 1 to graduating in 1945.The last time I saw him was at our 50th class reunion.  I don't know why he was without transportation so he hitched a ride with me back to his sister's house (she had passed) and he was there to supervise her estate. 
I never met his family.
 Well we are going little by little so maybe I will see him in the sweet by and by.

Dr. Skinner and my father were contemporaries, then we became better acquainted during my residency at St. Paul Medical Center in the '70's. He was a genuine gentleman and an exemplary Physician. One of a kind.

God bless you Bill. I'm so sorry I only met you once at the Greene family reunion. My mom (Nancy Greene Fisher) thought very highly of you and had fond memories.

Mr. Phillips expresses my feelings better than I can.  I miss Dr. Skinner and pray for the blessed son and grandson.
