Hector George Coward, 78, of Snellville, GA departed this earthly life on February 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving children. He was born on May 14th, 1940 in Lucky Hill St. Mary Jamaica, West Indies to late Joyce Huggins nee Henry and Lenord Malcolm Coward.
Hector attended Goshen-All Age Middle School in the parish of St. Mary. He attended New York University where he studied Communications and minored in Photography. He also attended Cornell University where he attained a master’s degree in Communication with a focus in Religious Studies.
Hector lived over fourteen years in New York City; and returned to Kingston, Jamaica where he was a devoted Christian and an active member at Bethel Baptist Church in Half Way Tree, Jamaica. There he met and later married Maisie Coward. They remained married for 30 years until her untimely death in 2008.
Hector Coward was a man well known for his warm smile, welcoming personality, and his unwavering faith. He was a remarkably intelligent and determined man. Hector lived his life and taught others to be loving, compassionate, and humble. He has always been a favorite at every congregation, Sunday School, domino table, or dinner table.
Hector found great joy in teaching and guiding others and was a father figure to many. He was a man's man and loved his sports teams, and tennis matches. Above all he was a true servant of Christ and God's love really flowed through him to everyone he touched. He was the best father to more than just his children and he will be missed but his teachings and his influence will live on forever.
A man of great faith. A life served through love. A man remembered for his works.
