Alice was born on October 23, 1923, in Elbow, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Theunis (Ernest) Graafstra and Anna (Jager) Graafstra.
Alice retired from Scott Paper Co. in Everett, WA, holding a position as Secretary of the Union for many years.
She was a 73 year member of the Snohomish Eagles Auxiliary, joining in January, 1945. She was a Madam President three times and held all the officers positions many times. She was the Madam Secretary for 20 years. As an active member, she had worked on fundraising events for Local, State and Grand charities. She was also a District Deputy, Zone President and a State Officer. She loved the Fraternal Order of Eagles. It was a big part of her and her husband’s life together.
She was preceded in death by Howard, her husband of 65 years; her son, Larry; granddaughter, Tina; her parents; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Sandra Dressel, of Lake Stevens, WA; sons, Leonard (Kathy) Belcher of Marysville, WA, and Ronald (Jeannie) Belcher of Neilton, WA; one brother, Henry (Betty) Graafstra of Arlington; and grandchildren, Shane Dressel, Larry (Carolyn) Dressel, Jamie Lentz, Cheri Singer, Ronald Belcher, Donita Freeze, Kimberly (Jim) Davis, Kelly (Jim) Monahan, and Ryan Puckett, as well as many great and great/great grandchildren.
