Barbara A McManus

Barbara was born on August 22, 1928 in Tacoma, WA. As a young child, she traveled extensively with her parents and sister, Carol, up and down the west coast of America, from San Pedro, CA to Port Alexander, Alaska. Her father was a commercial fisherman, he followed the fish, and his family followed him. The family settled in Ballard, WA when she was a young teenager.

She was a 1946 graduate of Ballard High School. After working in various banking and office jobs throughout her life Barbara retired as office manager from ASI, Everett, in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Inez (Sinland) Peterson; her former husbands, Frank B. Monsen, Jr. and James P. McManus.

She is survived by her children, Janet Monsen (Matthias), Thomas Monsen (Lesley), Louis Monsen, Patrick McManus (Tan); and her sister, Carol Olson (Lowell); her grandchildren; Angela, Hanna, Eric, Erik, Thor, Leif, Zee, and Arm; great grandchildren, Nikaelah, Eian, Alexzah and Krysani; as well as many nieces, nephews; and cousins, in both America and Norway.

There will be a memorial gathering at 1212 Madrona Dr, Snohomish on Saturday, October 20 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Snohomish Senior Center or charity of your choice .
