

Barbara was born October 25th, 1949 in Puyallup, Washington to James and Ilean Churchill. Her family moved to Port Angeles, Washington in 1954 where Barbara attended grade school, junior high and high school, graduating in 1968 with honors. As a sophomore in high school she met her future husband, Greg Rivett, and they married on September 28, 1968. Together they moved to Seattle where she worked as a medical assistant while her husband attended the University of Washington. In 1973 they welcomed their son, Matthew. Barbara continued her studies and graduated as a Medical Laboratory Technician in 1978, when the family settled in Snohomish, Washington. She enjoyed her career as an MLT at Virginia Mason until her retirement in 2009.
After retiring, Barbara pursued her hobbies of gardening, antiques study, and sailing. She and Greg fulfilled their passion for traveling all over the world. She inherited a house in Arizona where they wintered until 2019.Their son, Matthew, married Rose in 2012, and they welcomed Barbara’s two granddaughters, Miriam and Daphne. This heralded a new chapter in Barbara’s life, with many happy hours spent with family in her large backyard garden with a playhouse, creating magical memories.
She passed away suddenly on May 21, 2022. She leaves behind one brother, Stan Churchill of Spanaway, Washington, in addition to her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Rose Rivett, granddaughters Miriam and Daphne of Seattle, and her husband, Greg Rivett of Snohomish.
