OBITUARY

Christine Marguerite Haffner (Brady)

August 4, 1946September 28, 2020

Christine (Christy) came into this world on August 4, 1946 and left into the welcoming arms of her Lord at 11:30pm on September 28, 2020. She died peacefully under the wonderful care of the nurses and aides of Providence Hospice, and in the presence of her family.

Christine was born in Seattle and was adopted by Ted and Agnes Brady and happily joined her older sister Claire and brother Dale, both also previously adopted. She grew up in Snohomish and graduated from Snohomish High School in 1964. She played the drums in the high school band and loved poetry.

In her senior year she and Claire decided to go check out the disk jockey known as "Bill Barger" at KRKO, the Everett radio station. His real name was William Wolfenbarger. Fun fact, while courting she would bring him dinner her mom made, declaring she had made it. They were married in the Methodist Church in Snohomish in 1966 and had 2 daughters. JoDeana was born in 1966 and Deborah in 1970. JoDeana’ s children Raymond and Jacquelyn produced 6 great grandchildren, to the delight of their great grandma who loved them, her grandchildren, and children so very much.

Christine and Bill were divorced in 1972. She later married Lewis (Andy) Anderson who passed in 1990, followed by Robert Haffner who passed in 1991.

Christine suffered many childhood illnesses, the most debilitating being rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed when she was 10. She was bedridden for a year and attended school via intercom. She suffered extraordinary pain all her life without complaint and with courageous dignity.

Later in her life she received her CNA certification and worked at Bethany Nursing Home in South Everett. She felt her calling was to help others with their pain and she did so with great love, empathy, and compassion for all of those she took care of despite her daily pain.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Agnes, her brother Dale, and husband's Andy and Robert. Christine is survived by daughters JoDeana (Rick), Deborah (Clint), her Grandchildren RJ (Megan), Jacquelyn, and Brittany, her great grandchildren Brayden, Reilly, David, Damien, Nathan and Gabriel, and sister Claire.

Christine’s legacy is her boundless love for all people and especially for her family who loved her beyond words and will deeply miss her until they meet again.

RIP our sweet treasure.

Many, many wonderful memories, growing up in our huge home and large area to play in, mom a great hostess and cook, surrounded by music recorded, played and performed by us as we learned music, grandma's fabulous Christmases, our beloved pets, our traveling adventures throughout the U.S. including spending 4 summers in Anchorage, AL while daddy, as a building contractor, built through out Alaska. I especially remember daddy calling you his "Baby Doll" and a doll you were with your golden curls and now daddy has his Baby Doll" forever. I am in deep pain and sadness at your loss, but I know you are now without pain, and I will see you soon. With deepest love, Claire
