Dan was born September 8, 1984 in St. Charles, Illinois to Barbara and Michael Ayers. He was a graduate of Monroe High School and Western Washington University. Dan was passionate about sports. Growing up, he was often on a field or a court. This time taught him the value of teamwork and built a work ethic that defined his adulthood. Dan was incredibly loyal to his family and friends. He often championed others and stepped up to help.
During college, Dan rescued a dog and named him Wrigley in honor of the Chicago Cubs’ home field. Wrigley changed his life. Dan became an unwavering advocate for animals, even leading him to a career with a pet insurance company. He was also a volunteer at Pasado’s Safe Haven in Snohomish County. His commitment to Pasado’s mission was so strong that when he found himself without a car before a volunteer shift, he rode his old 10-speed bike to be there on time.
Dan is survived by his mother, sister Katie and her husband Mohammad Hamdan; sister Jessica Rosenberg and her husband Blake, their two sons Chase and Luke; and his aunt Joyce and her husband Clyde Senters.
Please join his family at a gathering in “open house” style on Sunday, October 18, from 1pm to 3pm at Cascade Community Church, 14377 Fryelands Blvd, Monroe, WA 98272. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite sports jersey or other items that remind them of Dan.
