Dan & I worked together for a time @ Interlake Steel in Riverdale, Il.in the PRM--his dad worked in the Punch Press dept. I remember on an off day during the week we went to E J Korvetts & bought some records--I believe he bought a Who album. I remember Dan as a good electrician & wonderful person who was fun to be around. He WILL be missed.

I first met Dan in 2000 when I with other English friends visited the USA for the "Meet of the Milennium" - a miniature roving Railroad Event along and down the West Coast. He took us all under his wing and made sure that us British visitors had a wonderful and memorable holiday. Our friendship has continued over the intervening years.

I am very sad to learn of his premature passing and will remember him as a kind and generous man and a great American Patriot.

I have so many memories of Dan from when we all used to work together but what sticks in my mind the most is how kind, warm, and welcoming he always was with everyone. Dan could have a conversation with anyone and made slow days pass quickly with his stories and laughter. He gave me the best relationship advice ever when he told me to "marry your best friend" and I loved hearing all his stories, especially the ones where he and Kris went on adventures or experienced some type of mischief. I can still hear both of you chuckling as you would share. Our hearts and thoughts are with you, Kris.

Dan's many hobbies included model railroading, live steam clubs where he ran his home-built electric locomotives, Amateur HAM radio clubs, photography and video filming for his You Tube site. Dan held the Extra Class HAM license and was a VE Examiner for tests. He was especially proud of his You Tube site where he uploaded his hobby of railroad filming. He was also a web master and created the "Live Steaming in the Pacific Northwest" site to showcase the many Live Steam clubs in the USA and Canada. He was well know throughout the hobby community. He was always cheerful, happy to help people out and always gave of himself. He enriched everyone's life. He is sorely missed.
