Earl was born March 14, 1935, in a little farmhouse on Storm Lake Road in Snohomish, WA. He was the sixth born of eleven children. The Goshorn children had many adventures on the farm that will be remembered in fondness with Earl as the ringleader. As a teenager, he joined the navy and served in Guam during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he met Merry Millbach through a mutual friend and the two were married shortly after and they soon built a home in Lake Stevens and raised a family. Earl’s home hosted family and friends for all special occasions and weekend gatherings. He counseled his kids, nephews, nieces, grandkids and friends from the kitchen table overlooking the lake. We learned many things from Earl during these counseling sessions, “you don’t know until you ask”, “be a person of your word”, and “if you are on time, you are 10 minutes late”. When asked how he was, the answer was always “Wonderful! Wonderful!” Earl is survived by wife of 65 years Merry, 2 sons Earl, Jr. and wife Susan, Eric and wife Julie, daughter Lisa (Goshorn) Sandlin and husband Neil, granddaughter Sarah and husband Alex, great-grandson Jaxon, grandson Michael, and preceded in death by grandson Joel.
Step-grandchildren Sherry, Patricia and Lori Anne, step-great-grandchildren Christopher, Jonathan, Joshua, Keegan, Hayden, Madison, Stephanie.
Survived by brother Ernie, sisters Violet, Rose, Margeurite, and numerous nieces and nephews and many other extended family and close friends that are considered family.
By Earl’s request, there will be no memorial service.
