Earle L. Lethlean, adored husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, joined his beloved wife Jacqueline J. Lethlean in heaven to walk the streets of glory together forever on August 1, 2018. He is survived by his sons and daughter, James Lethlean and wife Birdie, Daniel Lethlean, Robert Lethlean and wife Christina, Chris Lethlean, Steven Lethlean and wife Rhonda, Rebecca Luce and husband Greg. He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Clarno and husband Gary.
Fifteen grandchildren, Brian Lethlean, Mark Lethlean, James Lethlean Jr., Daniel Lethlean Jr, Heath Lethlean, Shad Lethlean, Shelly Carroll, Stephanie Lethlean, Mendi Speck, Jessica Lourenco, Aaron Lethlean, Tessa Lethlean, Kenny Clarno, Olivia Lethlean, Amelia Lethlean, many step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren kept him busy and life full of joy.
Like many young men of the era, Earle attempted to leave high school early and join the military during World War II. This was unsuccessful, so he served the best way he could by beginning his working career building warships in the shipyards of Portland, Oregon. Later, he moved on to the timber industry, holding multiple positions in the wood mills in Baker, Oregon, and Roseburg, Oregon areas. Earle was a devoted family man with a deep love for his children spending every moment while not at work attending his kid’s sporting and school events. He did, however, enjoy time with his bowling league and earned the nickname “Earle the Pearle”. Above all else, was his deep committed love he held for his wife of 50 years as all who knew the two of them witnessed. He and his wife together, were dedicated Christians who were love in action helping all those in the community who needed assistance.
Earle Lethlean’s legacy will live on forever in the hearts and lives of those who loved him and knew him best. A graveside service will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Sutherlin, Oregon on August 10, 2018 at 11 AM to pay final respect to this man of integrity and love.
