Gene Kenneth Klasse, aged 89, passed away from an aortic aneurysm on April 16, 2025, in Everett. Born on July 22, 1935, Gene was known for his remarkable skill as a jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he demonstrated an exceptional ability to build and fix just about anything, a talent that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Despite his talents, he remained humble, only later in life embracing his outgoing nature and quick wit. Gene attended Hoge Country Primary School followed by Fosston High School. His professional life was marked by his significant expertise as a lead saw filer, a role in which he excelled and brought precision and care. In his personal life, Gene was a devoted family man, survived by his daughters Vicki Machovsky and Carolyn Beecher; sons Dean, Jeff, and Jim Klasse; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. His sister Lorraine Brustad is the lone survivor of his once large family. Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanette Klasse; son Ken Klasse; brothers Dorman, Dean, Donald, and Russel; and sister Norma. Gene’s hobbies included tinkering in his garage and shop; He built his home, numerous birdhouses, shelves, clocks, and more. He also had a passion for fishing, which he pursued whenever possible. A service to honor Gene’s life will be held at Bauer Funeral Chapel, 701 1st ST, Snohomish, WA 98290, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2 pm, with a viewing from 9 am to 1 pm. Burial will follow at Machias Cemetery, 1204 Sylvia ST, Lake Stevens, WA 98258. A Celebration of Life will take place afterward at the family home in Lake Stevens.
