Helen Deanna Surdyk

Dec. 22, 1936 - July 17, 2014 Dannie, loving wife and caring mother passed away peacefully with all of her family at her side on July 17, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Dale, sons. Jerry, Bentley, Larry and Leon and daughter, Linda; sisters, Lillian and Karen and brothers, Gary and Rick, Jim and Kelly; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dannie met Dale working as an elevator operator in the exchange building in Seattle, Wash. She always said they had there ups and downs. Dannie fought a courageous battle against breast cancer for over 35 year's, during her battle she always worried about how everyone else was doing never letting on that she was in any sort of pain herself. The last four and a half years being a continuous battle from the effects of chemotherapy. Dannie loved her family and participated in everything they did. Volunteering at schools, a member of the PTA, and 4-H. She skied, camped, went to wrestling matches, track meets and football games. After Dale retired in 1995 they hit the road in their RV, racking up 140,000 miles over the years and visiting 49 of 50 states and much of Canada. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the G.A.R. Cemetery, 8601 Riverview Rd., Snohomish Wash. 98290 on Sunday, July 27, 2014 followed by a "Celebration of Life" potluck at Dale and Dannie's house at 10120 52nd St. SE Snohomish 98290.
