Jordan Balza, 37, was taken from us suddenly on September 30, 2021. His passing has left a huge void in the lives of family and friends who knew and loved him.

Jordan was born in Aurora, CO on April 20, 1984 to Daniel and Deborah Balza. He was raised in Sherwood, Oregon and graduated from Sherwood High School in 2002. He completed trade school as a lineman and was a proud union member of the IBEW Local 46. He worked in several different states as an apprentice and then journeyman, finally landing in Seattle 2007. He enjoyed fishing at the many local lakes and waterways and decided that this is where he would put down his roots.

Jordan met Courtney Ball in 2011 and they were married in August, 2014. They both enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing and traveling to new places. Their proudest accomplishment was the birth of their daughter 3 years ago. They have traveled to Alaska, Wisconsin, Hawaii and South Carolina visiting family and most recently, flew to Disney World in Florida for a memorable family vacation. As a tradesman, Jordan worked for many different companies, including Boeing in Everett. He was outgoing and made many friends wherever he went. He was so thoughtful and generous with his time, helping out in any way that he could, at the drop of a dime. At home, he was a wonderful cook and especially loved cooking for a crowd. He will be most remembered for his outstanding smoking and grilling skills. Holidays, family gatherings and barbecues were not complete without his smoked hams, beef brisket, and ribs. He made sure everyone had a chance to eat before him so he could watch them enjoy and no one ever went home hungry.

Jordan was a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by wife, Courtney and daughter, Rowan; parents Dan and Deb Balza, brother Matthew, sister Rachel, grandparents Richard and Jean Balza, and Judy Potts. He also leaves behind many uncles, aunts and cousins. His life will be remembered by family and friends on Sunday, October 17 at High Point Church in Snohomish, WA. Private graveside internment will follow on Monday at the G.A.R. Cemetery, also in Snohomish.

Jordan’s three loves were God, family and country. Though we are left behind to mourn his passing, we are confident that Jordan now knows where eternal peace exists, through Jesus alone.

I met Jordan and Courtney at High Point Church and immediately knew they were kindred spirits. Their love for the Lord, for each other, and for the people in their lives was obvious. When their sweet baby girl arrived the devotion he exhibited to her was stellar. Courtney's as well. Jordan and I would often communicate on FB after I moved from High Point due to the distance from my home. I appreciated his candor and his love for God and Country. I'm so saddened to learn of his passing, especially for his dear bride and little girl. I pray God will grant them comfort and peace in this time of trouble and sorrow.
