I never really knew him. Didnt even know his name. But I work at arby's and he was our regular that came in almost every week and we were always so pleased to see him. He always had a smile on his face. I was wondering why I didnt see him this week. I will miss seeing him come in. One less smile I get to see

As a 7 year neighbor to Mr. Burt, we only spoke in passing a few times but I was always happy to see him when he was able to be in the yard. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Burt and am truly sorry to hear of his passing today on the 3rd, a day after his services. He will be missed in my household and heart. I sincerely hope that whoever is to take over his property, will keep his house the iconic colors that all of us Snohomish locals have known and grown to love. Farewell my neighbor and may you Rest In Peace. Long Live the Snohomish Pumpkin House and the Memory of Mr. Burt!

Mr. Burt was an unassuming person with an immense caring for the youth in our community and a vision for their future, which he generously supported through his scholarships. He set an amazing example for us all to emulate.

Mr. Burt was a quiet hero. He never sought fame or fortune for his good works. But he provided a tremendous amount of support for "his kids". The Snohomish Education Foundation has been extremely proud to steward Mr. Burt's good intentions these past nearly 20 years for funding dozens of college scholarships over the year and many special needs grants. Thank you Mr. Burt for your vision to make a difference - you have made a difference and your legacy will endure through all those you helped.

I never met you Joseph Wayne Burt, but my granddaughter Tammy Holten did and she truely loved you. That is enough for me as she is a real treasure and you have both been blessed to know each other. She spoke of you many times and I know I would have loved you also.
