Born on July 17th, 1956, in Lynnwood, California, Marcella was the beloved daughter of Donald and Marilyn Wright. She graduated from San Gabriel Mission High School in San Gabriel, California, and later continued her education at Pasadena Community College.
Marcella met her husband Greg in high school, and they were married for 46 years. She embraced her roles as wife and mother with deep love and care. Together with Greg, they raised two sons, Luke and Brian. Family was at the heart of Marcella’s life and central to who she was.
For 25 years, Marcella and her husband Greg owned and operated a custom fishing rod and tackle shop, pouring their craftsmanship, care, and heart into the business and the community it served.
Her faith was a deep and abiding source of strength throughout her life; she devoted many years to teaching Bible studies and serving her church with humility and joy. At Holy Cross Catholic Church, she inspired her Bible study students with her profound spiritual understanding, illuminating the Scriptures and helping each person discover their meaning in their own life.
Marcella found her greatest happiness in the simple, beautiful moments of life. She loved boating, fishing, camping adventures with Greg, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors. She had a special love for bird watching—especially owls. Above all, she cherished time with her grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her husband Greg; her sons Luke and Brian; and her grandchildren Jaxon, Reid, and an eagerly awaited grandchild, expected to arrive in November.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lake Stevens, Washington. The date and time will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Church in Lake Stevens and The American Cancer Society in Marcella’s honor.
